WHAT BRINGS EDDIE AND TRACY TO THE BIG ONE

ALL ABOUT EDDIE

Eddie Fingers was born in Dayton, Ohio, but has been in Cincinnati long enough to consider this his hometown.  He came to town after 4 almost productive years at the University of Dayton, working with the likes of 700WLW's Mike McConnell and a bunch of people currently serving hard time.

Eddie bounced from job to job, first a carny, a fry-cook, a fixer, a cleaner...until fate intervened in 1985, when he was brought in to work with his then wife (Robin Wood) at WEBN in 1988.  The marriage was doomed, but the partnership turned out to be one of the most successful in Cincinnati radio history and his future was set.  Through an amazing series of good luck and stupid dumb luck, he lasted for 22 ½ years and approximately 211 partners.

He currently resides in wedded bliss with his lovely wife, Deborah, and their two children, Jack Daniels and Sam Adams Fingers…..Fingers has been neutered.

ALL ABOUT TRACY

Tracy "played the game," as if you didn't know, in the Major Leagues primarily as an outfielder from 1986-1991. Jones was drafted by the New York Mets in the 4th round of the 1982 amateur draft, but did not sign. In January of 1983 Tracy was selected as the first overall pick of the secondary phase of the amateur draft by the Cincinnati Reds. He debuted as number 29 with the Reds in 1986 and had perhaps the best year of his career for the Reds in 1987, where he played in 116 games, batted .290, and stole 31 bases. In 1988, Jones was traded to the Montreal Expos, and later played for the Giants, Mariners, and eventually the Tigers where he played his final game in October 6, 1991.

For 12 years, "The Tracer" hosted "Extra Innings" following Reds games on 700WLW.  A believe it or not factoid!  Tracy is actually good with money and knows the stock market!  He owns Tracy Jones Financial, LLC.
WORDS TO KNOW. WORDS TO LIVE BY.

The Monroe Cheerleaders
Tuesday 08-26-2008 4:32pm ET

Here's what the Monroe cheerleading outfits look like. Do you think they are too short? And by banning them...is the Monroe School District stunting the growth of every geeky high school boy in the district? Get details on the story by clicking here.

You're looking at a picture of Barbara Ann Moore. She is the Northern Kentucky woman who is accused of bigamy. It seems that she is married to four men and is now on the run from the law. Taking a look at her, it seems shocking that she could get four men to say "I do"...or is it? Could she be the ultimate slumpbuster? You be the judge. And get more details on the story from our partners at News 5 by clicking here.

IS COREY PATTERSON DATING DUSTY BAKER'S DAUGHTER?
Wednesday 07-30-2008 4:18pm ET
If this is true, perhaps this explains why Corey continues to get the chances he does, despite entering August with a batting average well under .200.

WILL THE AKERS BE READY WHEN THE TAX MAN ARRIVES?
Wednesday 07-23-2008 3:43pm ET

We've all been touched by the story of the Akers getting a new home from ABC's Extreme Makeover:  Home Edition.  It's a great story, and they are certainly worthy recipients.  But you have to wonder, what will happen when the taxes come due?  So far, the West Chester family has receieved the following:

-Trip for the family to San Francisco

-New House

-Home Owners Insurance for a year (and advice) from Sibcy Cline and Hanover Insurance

-$100,000 scholarship from Great American Insurance for the children

-One year membership and $500 from Sam's Club

-Free groceries and gas from Meijers for a year

-Free orthodonal work for the children from Johnson Orthodontics

-Landscaping services for 5-years from Lichtenberg Landscaping

-Teaching materials from Standard Publishing and a $1500 gift certificate

-Ice Cream for a year and a half from The Cone

-Free year of play for the children from Upwards Basketball

-A year's membership from the Great Miami Valley YMCA

-Free haircuts for the family for a year from Paul Mitchell Schools

-New jewelry from Jewels of Park Lane

-Free maintanence for the life of their vehicles from Valvoline Instant Oil Change

-MC Mobility Services...a van that carries two wheel chairs

-Then there's the $82,000 that was raised at the fundraiser. They said they were going to buy a van from this and use the money to help them cover expenses the show didn't cover.

No one can question the kindness of those who have been nice enough to make donations, but when the tax bill comes, will the Akers be ready?  How much will all this ultimately cost them?  We'll ask a tax attorney today after the game.

THE POWER OF EDDIE, TRACY AND "THE SLUMPBUSTERS"
Thursday 07-17-2008 2:02pm ET

When Eddie and Tracy brought up "Slumpbusters," who knew how popular the name and the idea would become.  Hell.  Who knew how powerful Eddie and Tracy were.  Eddie and Tracy's "cub" reporter was at the Baseball Hall of Fame last week trying to find any mention of Tracy Jones and his career in Cooperstown, NY.  Nothing was found.  But, right outside the Hall of Fame, this young man from Omaha was proudly sporting his E&T team colors.

Yep.  Look REAL close.  This future "Major Leaguer" was showing his support for Eddie and Tracy and leading the fight to get a mention of Tracy Jones in Cooperstown.

No kidding.  This was taken right outside the Baseball Hall of Fame.
